Location - In the north east of the country.
Cheap accommodation - is not easy to find in Paris but it has excellent rail and metro services, so staying outside the centre at more affordable hotels is not a problem.
Weather - Paris has warm summers with average temperatures of 77 °F (25 °C). Winters can be cold but rarely below freezing and snow in Paris is rare. It doesn't get a great deal of rain but Paris is known for its sudden showers.
Level Of English – Poor, many don’t or rather won’t speak English
Prices – Not too bad, about the same as UK.
Eating Out - Quite good but like the UK, not cheap to eat out. Suggest trying to find a back street restaurant for better food, price and service.
Courtesy – On the whole quite helpful..
Driving – Generally OK, locals a bit impatient but close to UK driving conditions.
Public Transport - Generally very good. Buses, trains and the metro are quite frequent and not too expensive. It is well worth staying in a hotel just outside Paris on the rail route and then getting a single day ticket, covering train and metro, to go into the city for sightseeing.
Places Of Interest/Attractions - Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Élysées, Place de la Concorde and the Louvre to name but a few. Paris is jam packed with historical and interesting places to visit. Though if you are interested in Euro Disney, I wouldn't bother unless you have very young children. If so, they will love it but if you don't have youngsters or the ones you have in tow are older, they won't thank you for taking them in my opinion. It's over priced and with very little in the thrills and spills department. UK's Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventure etc., are far superior in terms of number of rides and quality.
Other Remarks - Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame etc., all live up to their reputation. Very well worthwhile to visit but several visits are need to see them all properly. Recommend a boat trip along the Seine.
